The Mental Health First Aid course teaches participants how to provide initial support to another adult who may be experiencing a mental health
problem or mental health crisis, until professional help is received or the crisis resolves. Designed for increased flexibility, this Mental Health First Aid
course is delivered in a blended mode. This includes a combination of online (eLearning) and an Instructor-led component which is delivered via a
face-to-face workshop.
Mental Health First Aid is a more comprehensive and widely recognised Mental Health First Aid course, suitable for those seeking a deeper
understanding of Mental Health in both personal and professional settings. It equips staff with the knowledge and confidence to recognise and
respond to Mental Health situations.
Mental Health First Aid is a practical, skills-based education program that equips adults in the workplace with the skills and confidence needed to
recognise, respond, and offer initial support to a co-worker or another adult experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis, until
appropriate professional help is received, or the crisis resolves.

Course Delivery
​
Course durations can vary for multiple reasons, so the durations below are the
minimum possible amount.

Online assessment and E-Learning with face-to-face assessment.
Face to Face contact time of at least 4 Hours.

Entry Requirements
​
Communication skills sufficient to engage in effective dialogue, and understand complex concepts related to mental health.
​
Online study options: The online learning program will be completed through Mental Health First Aid Australia. Students must have access to a computer, smart phone, tablet or other electronic device with access to the internet to complete the online studies and must complete the on-line training prior to the practical assessment.

Assessment Requirements/Activities
​
Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both online questions and practical assessment tasks.

Certificate Renewal Requirements
​
This certificate requires renewal every 3 years.
Participants will be issued a certificate directly from Mental Health First Aid Australia delivered by a licensed Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) instructor
