Course Description

This course provides individuals with the knowledge and skills to enable them to effectively use an Automated External Defibrillator as part of the resuscitation process to a victim who has suffered a cardiac arrest.


Learning Objectives

• The chain of survival

• Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA)

• Resuscitation techniques

• Safety issues relating to the AED

• Maintenance and use of the AED

• Perform CPR in line with ARC guidelines


Course Prerequisites

Participants must be able to demonstrate current competence in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Students must be at least 14 years of age at the time of attendance.

Important note: In order to issue an accredited certificate CPR must be performed on the floor with no exemptions.


Course Details

The face to face training is 2 hours and covers both theory and practical aspects of Defibrillator Training.

Group Training

The Defibrillation (AED) course can be customised to meet your industry requirements.  We also provide an Advanced Management System to notify clients and students when certificates are due to expire, ensuring staff are always compliant.


Qualification Issued

On successful completion of the course participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the nationally accredited course – 22101VIC Course in Automated External Defibrillation.

Certificates are emailed following each course.


Certificate Validity

Certification is valid for 12 months from the completion date.


Enrolment Confirmation

This is a very interesting and challenging course is suitable for all First Aiders looking to improve their skills and those that must have this qualification for their employment. An example may be a workplace First Responder, Rescue Diver, Dive Master, Outdoor recreation workers, Life Guards.
